C++ programming is something that I have taken on as a nessecity to make software that was running as a script or scripted plugin run at a much faster rate. For instance if a script is calculating per vertex per frame, it will take some time as a scripted plugin. Then it can be ported to a compiled plugin. Along with this I am able to make changes to existing software projects to better meet my needs. This may be simply including someone else libraries and creating a new executable with different inputs and outputs. throught using C++ on Linux I have discovered the joys of Makefiles, autotools. Primarily my work has centred around the SDKs for XSI, Maya and Shake, leveraging off similar projects used as a template. I would like to futher my skills in C++ until I feel comfortable to tackle larger software projects.
