The Portfolio of Sam Hodge

I have been using Linux since 2003. I was introduced to it for its computer networking capabilites, which a computer wireless networking group in Adelaide, named Air-Stream. I am able to maintain and install Linux and its packages to a fair degree of detail. Typically resolving package dependancies is about the limit of my knowledge rather than submiting patches upstream. But I am comfortable with all aspects of the operation system including hardware, kernel, network and software installation and maintainance. It wasnt until a lot later that I realised how valuable the experience with Linux would help me in visual effects. For several years have Linux installed as my primary operating sytem on my personal laptop as well as my workstation at work. I have used a number of distrobutions, but Gentoo seems to be the one i have stuck with until i realised that Ubuntu is the path of least resistance.
